Gary Edgecombe, of Camperdown Road, Salcombe, writes: I'm getting very tired with those who are objecting to the planning application for the Tides Reach Hotel. Presumably an unobstructed view of a caravan park is preferable to a new build offering employment and accommodation for new visitors to the town. We should consider ourselves lucky that we don't have another rash of holiday apartments to contend with, and this project should be applauded. Anything that obscures that eyesore of a caravan park needs to be encouraged.
