I wonder if other readers have noticed the new blue (paper) recycling bags appear to be made of thinner plastic – presumably to save money and/or to use less plastic – with the result that they tear easily, especially the handles that are not fit for purpose.
There appear to be two solutions: either double bag, or; put less in each bag.
Sadly, the unintended consequence of this poorly conceived savings measure will be the use of more bags.
