The Modbury Players Christmas Show, is once again set to entertain audiences with their unique creation of ‘Dracula Spooktacular’.
The actors will perform a heart-warming story where two very different families come together to celebrate Christmas. Set in Modbury, a young girl from Transylvania is going to spend Christmas with her friends’ Aunt and Uncle, which doesn’t really appeal to the young girl.
Then there is a great surprise that the whole Transylvanian family decide to take up residence in an old Manor in Modbury to visit their daughter, where some spooky events occur.
The show is complete with wonderful songs and dances for the whole family to enjoy. Written by Andrea Kuhn, a Modbury resident, the show is directed by Sarah Wyatt, produced by Judith Lancaster with Jo Highly as the Musical Director alongside Choreographer Angie Tall and Head of Costumes Sally Taylor.
As always, the production is very much a community enterprise with many people working behind the scenes.
The characters include a lovelorn Uncle Grim, played by Dave Fardon, money grabbers Aunt Petunia and Uncle Donald played by Liz Edwards and Rob West and Transylvanians Mort played by Peter Lowe and Sarah Wyatt.
Additionally, a host of children are included in the script with names such as Ann-Thrax, Rabies, Scabies, Measles, Mumps, Rubella and shingles.
Only on for three days, people will need to act fast to secure their tickets for Dracula Spooktacular. Tickets can be brought from Pickles in Modbury for Thursday, December 21, to Saturday, December 22, where the doors and bar will be open at 7pm each night.
