A memorial plaque has been unveiled at the Redfern Centre in memory of long-serving Friends of the Redfern Centre (F.O.R.C.) chairman Clive Parsons, recognising more than 25 years of dedicated service to the charity.

The ceremony brought together members of Mr Parsons' family, F.O.R.C. chairman Pam Hincklieff, secretary Jan Carter, Dr Bloomer and local sculptor Jim Martins, who created the plaque.

Mr Parsons served as a trustee of F.O.R.C. for more than 25 years and chaired the charity for the last 14 of those. Trustees said he is greatly missed by colleagues and friends following his death.

F.O.R.C. is a registered charity that provides equipment and services for the benefit of patients registered at the Redfern Centre. Its work is funded through donations from patients and supporters who value the care provided by the health centre.

Speaking on behalf of the family, Clive's cousin Keith Steer said they had been deeply moved by the tribute.

He said: "As a family my mother, sister and I are deeply touched by the beautiful memorial for Clive, recognising his loyal support of F.O.R.C. over many years and his legacy which will help many patients in years to come."

The plaque, created by local sculptor Jim Martins, has been installed at the Redfern Centre as a lasting tribute to Mr Parsons' commitment to supporting patients and the work of the charity.

F.O.R.C. said it hopes the memorial will serve as a reminder of Mr Parsons' years of dedication and the lasting contribution he made to the organisation and the local community.

Salcombe sculptor Jim Martins, said he was honoured to produce another sculpture for the Redfern Centre. He described the centre as a vital asset for Salcombe and said if it was ever to be lost it would be a huge blow to the community.
