A man who was helped by a couple after falling off his moped is appealing for them to come forward so he can say thank you in person.

Patrick Parsliffe, 74, fell off his moped on the evening of Tuesday, December 19, in Modbury and was helped by a young couple who he thinks live in Saffron Park, Kingsbridge, but didn’t get their names.

Patrick said that the young man and woman “helped me up, gathered my shopping and escorted me all the way back to Kingsbridge safety and checked I was OK at home”.

It was only later that Patrick went to Derriford and an X-ray revealed he had a broken shoulder.

He said he had not had an accident on his bike since he was 17 and no one else was involved in the incident.

Patrick said: “I’d love to say thanks to all concerned in person. Angels do exist.”
