A 'MAKE or break' AGM is being held next week to decide the future of a popular show.

The Cornwood Show committee is holding its AGM on Wednesday. January 23, at Cornwood village hall to find more volunteers and support.

Four of the show's longstanding committee have recently retired and organisers are desperately looking for more people to come forward to help.

Secretary Stephen Hanney said: 'It really is a make or break AGM as we are currently running on the bare bones of support and need more people to get involved.

'The show has been a feature of the village for over 100 years and it is very popular with both Cornwood and the surrounding parishes.

'The more people we have, the more people who can help out on the day and the more we can keep this great tradition going for years to come.

'We have been unlucky for the last three years with poor weather postponing the show, but we have managed to hold other events later on, such as last year's horse and dog show.

'The more people we have involved, the more ideas we have for community involvement so it would be great to see as many people as possible.'

The Cornwood Show sees agriculture, horticulture and community organisations come together for an afternoon of fun at Cadleigh Farm, Lee Mill.

'This year's Cornwood Show is planned to take place on Saturday, August 17.

The AGM is taking place next Wednesday at 8pm in Cornwood Village Hall.
