The Maltsters Arms, Tuckenhay, will be letting the locals take over the pub for Comic Relief.

The Local’s Takeover night will be held on Tuesday, March 21, and will see a group of local volunteers preparing and cooking a three-course meal, waiting on tables and pulling pints.

Two years ago, the pub did the same thing, and raised £1,300 for Comic Relief, this time they are aiming to raise £2,000. "It was an absolute blast last time and every one had such a fun night", said Alison Scott-Welsh.

Local suppliers, including Moby Nicks, Chalices and Booker, have donated produce to the event.

Tickets for The Local’s Takeover are £20 per person for a three-course meal and all the money raised from ticket sales will be donated to Comic Relief, making a difference to people across the UK and the world.

The evening starts at 7pm. Tickets are still available but selling fast, if you would like more information or to book a ticket, call George Scott-Welsh, landlord, on 01803 732350 or email [email protected].
