A LOCAL landmark being turned into an arts and community hub has welcomed two new resident ceramicists.

Rebecca Roberts and Kate Lyons-Miller, both ceramics graduates from Plymouth College of Art, have joined forces to share a studio at The Clay Factory just east of Ivybridge.

Part of the building, which was once a drying shed for china clay dug at Red Lake eight miles away, is having new life breathed into it by community interest company RedPod Enterprises. Sister venture RedPod Studios offers work space to bring artists into The Clay Factory.

Rebecca and Kate are both exhibiting ceramicists whose work is on display at the The Leach Pottery, St Ives in January and February. They will use the studio to create their own work, and will also be running workshops, classes and open access and drop in sessions.

RedPod Enterprises was set up to help fund The Eddystone Trust, an HIV charity working throughout the South West.
