A LIVING Nativity play will be performed at East Soar Farm next week.
The story will be told through two narrators, who will guide the audience through three different Nativity scenes around the farm.
The scenes will be mimed with exquisite costumes and real farm animals, including sheep and donkeys.
Father Daniel French from Holy Trinity, Salcombe said: ‘The idea came to the churchwarden and me simultaneously while walking dogs at East Soar. We both thought the area would be perfect for a traditional outdoor Nativity play.
‘The farm is going to be beautifully candlelit. In one barn there will be the Court of the Magi scene and outdoors there will be a scene depicting the shepherds being greeted by the angels.
‘And in the Swallow’s Nest - the smallest barn - there’ll be the manger scene with Mary and Joseph.’
Donations for UNICEF will be taken on the door. And hot drinks and refreshments will be sold from the Walker’s Hut, with donations being split between the Parent Teacher Associations of Malborough and Salcombe primary schools.
If the weather is good, parking will be available in the farmer’s field. If not, parking will be in the National Trust car park - a short walk from the farm.
There will be two performances of the Living Nativity play, at 4pm on Thursday, December 22 and 4pm on Friday, December 23.
