I read with interest Richard Hosking’s recent letter in which he claimed that Theresa May’s speech at the Mansion House was “almost universally accepted”.
The Northern Ireland issue is high in concerns; the fall from the UK being the leading economy in the G20 to being bottom of list; the growing threat of job insecurity with major companies electing to move to the more attractive fields of the European Union; and last but but not least the concerns about food security.
Last month we held a Time to Question Brexit event in Totnes Civic Hall, attended by more than 100 people where these, among other worries. were aired.
Last Saturday, we held a mass march and rally in Exeter.
This is a world away from universal acceptance, people are demanding a final say on the deal and to deny them this, as Mr Hosking suggests, is not democracy as we know it.
