Barney Greenhill, of Northville Road, Kingsbridge, writes:
This morning yet again a lady tripped and fell heavily because of the poor condition of the paving throughout the length of Fore Street.
Tripping on the slabs is a huge risk to everyone, but especially the elderly and less nimble.
Any repairs seem to be short-lived, which would suggest that an alternative solution should be sought. Perhaps the council responsible should consider tarmac as the alternative – cheaper to apply, easier to maintain and no nasty trip hazards.
It would be useful to hear through the Gazette’s columns what the council intends to do about this problem, as it needs to be addressed urgently.
