KINGSBRIDGE Young Farmers Club have won the South Dartmoor Young Farmers Entertainment Competition.
The group won the competition for the first time in 16 years with a mash-up of sketches parodying famous TV programmes I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here, Britain’s Got Talent, Strictly Come Dancing and the X Factor, on Sunday, January 29.
‘We’re now through to the county competition’ said Gilly Luscombe, ‘so we will be representing South Dartmoor in Exmouth on February 19, and if we win that, which I think is unlikely,’ she laughed ‘we’ll go to the South West Area competition representing Devon.
‘Unfortunately, three of our cast are going to New Zealand just before the country competition so we’ll have to learn all the extra lines fast!’
Chair of Kingsbridge YFC Tom Darke and previous chair Rich Rossiter were the presenters for the evening and kept everyone laughing along throughout the performance.
You can see the Kingsbridge Young Farmer’s Club perform their winning sketch at Malborough Village Hall on Saturday, February 4, at 7.30pm, which will raise money for charity.
‘We want to say a special thank you to Jack and Bett Rhymes’, continued Gilly, ‘the put it all together and they did an amazing job.’
