KINGSBRIDGE Royal British Legion have presented two long service awards, both celebrating 45 years of support for the charity.

Daphne Langman, poppy appeal collector, and Ken Court, club president, were presented with their awards on Friday, February 3, at the Mill Club in Kingsbridge.

Leon Lock, chairman, thanked both Daphne and Ken, who used to sell poppies door-to-door, for their long service and also paid tribute to retired chairman John Peacock.

Colin Davis has taken over as poppy appeal organiser and the RBL are always looking for more volunteers to help with poppy collections.

Last year the club raised £16,000 for the poppy appeal across Kingsbridge and the surrounding villages, with most of the local primary schools raised over £100 each. If you would like to offer your time as a poppy appeal collector, contact Colin on 01548 852706.
