AFTER insisting last month that ’works were on schedule’, the Cooperative have now admitted that they will miss their opening target of this Friday.

When contacted in early November, the Cooperative said ’works are on schedule’ for opening ten weeks after the petrol station in Kingsbridge closed. They have now said they are aiming for an opening date of Monday, December 19.

This leaves local residents still having to use other close by petrol stations during this time, which are the Texaco on Salcombe Road, Malborough; Gulf Filling Station, Main Road, Salcombe; California Cross Filling Station on the B3196 near Loddiswell; Ashby’s Easy Stores, East Charleton; Totnes Cross Garage, Halwell, and Yealm Motor Services, Yealmpton, on the A379.
