On behalf of Dart Sailability I would like to thank the ­wonderful staff at the Dartmouth Sainsbury’s and the kind people of Dartmouth for their generosity at our fund­raising collection at Sainsbury’s on Saturday.

Dart Sailability is a non-­commercial charitable group formed in 1997. It is managed by its members with the aim of supporting sailing for those with all types of disability on the river Dart.

As a Dartmouth resident, I am disappointed to often see negativity about Dartmouth and its people in letters and articles, and I would like ­people to see the other, caring side of Dartmouth.

In these busy and financially challenging times, I am ­delighted that people were kind enough to dig deep and raise £382.72 for a worthy cause.
