NEGOTIATING Totnes Cross was like 'driving over the Himalayas', according to Dartmouth town councillor Frances Hawke. And fellow councillor Les Barnes said you couldn't drive through the town or in Townstal without falling into potholes. The poor state of the roads in the area was raised at this month's meeting of Dartmouth Town Council. Devon county representative Cllr Jonathan Hawkins said he was following up on a number of complaints on a weekly basis. 'The county is doing the best it can after a hard winter,' he said.
