A home care company has organised a creativity workshop for clients and the community.

The event, organised by The Care Company SW Ltd, will act as an opportunity to promote a creative social environment to support mental and physical well-being in our area.

The well-supported Stroke group in Kingsbridge no longer exists and is missed by many, so The Care Company wanted to “find something that may offer an opportunity for our community to be able to connect on a different level through creativity and art”.

Sarah Sabater, managing director of The Care Company SW, said: “Our company witnesses on a daily basis how people are affected within our community with loneliness and isolation.

“We hope to bring younger members of our community together with older members, something that has been trailed elsewhere in the country successfully.

“The Care Company is teaming up with Victoria from Creation Station providing an opportunity for people to take part in an interactive activity that provides fun, encourages socialisation, improves dexterity or just a well deserved creative break from reality.

“Our first event is open to everyone and is free. We have been very fortunate to gain generous sponsorship from Devon Hearing Care, Councillor Julian Brazil and Beers Solicitors to fund the event.”

The event will take place at The Age Concern building, Quay House, Ilbert Road, Kingsbridge on August 30, from 1.30pm to 4pm. Refreshments will be available and we will be holding a raffle that will help fund our next event. If anyone would like further information, please call Sarah or Annette on 01548 521789.
