The South Hams has now gone eight weeks without a COVID-19-related death, official figures released today show.

For the second week running, no deaths related to coronavirus were recorded across Devon in the latest ONS weekly figures.

The latest figures, released by the Office for National Statistics today, relate to the week of July 4 and July 10, but were registered up to July 18.

No new deaths in care homes were recorded, and it is the fourth week in a row that across the whole of Devon, there has been no new care home deaths.

The figures relate to deaths in which COVID-19 was mentioned on the death certificate were registered in that time period.

The Isles of Scilly has still yet to see a COVID-19 related death and the South Hams and West Devon have now gone eight weeks without a death, while Mid Devon and North Devon seven weeks and Torridge six weeks, Torbay five weeks, Exeter and Teignbridge have gone four weeks, and Plymouth and East Devon have gone two weeks.
