Four sisters from Loddiswell took part in the Bristol half marathon, raising money for mental health charity Mind.

On Sunday, September 17, Rachel, Chloe, Kate and Anna Harvey all took their places at the start line to complete the course alongside 10,000 competitors.

The sisters’ mum, Joy Harvey said: “With youngest Harvey Anna admittedly more into extra fries than exercise, Chloe new to long distance running, and Rachel with legs about half the length of Kate’s, this was a big challenge for team Harvey.”

But with parents, Joy and Paul, strategically placed at mile 10 and armed with an “unhealthy amount of jelly babies”, the girls set off on the 13.1 mile road race.

They crossed the finish line in their matching Mind t-shirts and coordinated glittery face paint with each of them achieving a new, and in some instances, brand new, personal best time. So far they have raised £1,200 with funds still coming in.

The sisters wrote on their JustGiving page: “Mental health is a topic which has sadly come into our family spotlight in recent years. However, in many cases it is also one which continues to be overlooked and underfunded.

“Blessed with a huge family, the support from one another during these tougher times has been truly inspiring. The money raised for this cause can help to ensure support for anyone battling a mental health problem.”

The sisters thanked “everyone who has supported us” and you can still donate to Mind in support of their efforts, using the JustGiving page: www.justgiving.com/fundraising/teamharvey1234
