A new ’gurt big pothole’ sign has appeared, warning motorists of an enormous and deep hole in the road at the top of Loddiswell Hill.

Potholes have been a hot topic in the village for a while, with drivers negotiating around the hole on their way down the hill, often forcing them to pull onto the wrong side of the road.

Another large pothole has appeared at the corner by the shop, and both that and the one at the top of the hill have been reported to Devon County Council.

The sign, which puts smiles on drivers’ faces as they spot it on the side of the road, has probably saved some car owners from hefty garage bills.

The last ’gurt big pothole’ sign seems to have done the trick, with holes in the road from California Cross to Loddiswell being filled within a week.
