P Payne has a valid point regarding the public toilets on Kingsbridge quay, Gazette, February 5.

I seem to recall Follaton House guaranteeing the ­conveniences at Shadycombe Road, here in Salcombe. They were knocked down within the year.

I can only conclude that our exalted local councillors don’t go to the toilet, or they never have cause to visit the places they inconvenience – pun intended.

If you are passing their offices, do pop in for a pee – I’m sure they won’t mind.
