A summer fete took over the grounds of elegant Kitley House Hotel on bank holiday Monday and crowds flocked to enjoy "a good old fashioned day out".

Blessed with great weather, the event at the stately home turned hotel near Yealmpton featured cream teas, food and drink, arts, crafts and gift stalls and workshops, and old time tunes from Andy ’The Crooner’ Marshall.

Plympton animal shelter Gables Farm hosted a dog show, and £300 was raised for the charity during the day.

Joanne Macaskie, director of organiser Miss Ivy Events said: "It was lovely to see so many people smiling and enjoying a good old fashioned day out. The feedback from the event was amazing with a lot of local people pleased to see an event happening at Kitley House again."

Miss Ivy Events is also involved in this weekend’s Ivybridge Summer Fete, taking place on Saturday, September 2 at Glanvilles Mill in the town.
