THOUSANDS of people are expected to flock to Dartmouth’s Food Festival this weekend.
The gastronomic delight of tasting and tippling will see around 100 producers offering a wide selection of food and drink and the chance to buy direct from the growers, makers, bakers and brewers. Stands selling breads, cheeses, meats, drinks, wines, beers, chocolate, flapjack, cake, chutneys, oils and much more will be available from 10am tomorrow until Sunday.
Now in its 15th year, the festival promises to be the biggest and best yet. There will be demonstrations by an array of chefs, including several celebrities, and the chance to taste plenty of samples and browse the array of producer market stalls and enjoy the activities taking place.
Taking over the town from the South Embankment, through the heart of the Royal Avenue Gardens, to the Old Market, there are stalls a plenty, with something to suit all tastes.
Dartmouth restaurateur Mitch Tonks, one of the original ambassadors, describes the festival as having ‘a party atmosphere from start to finish’.
