Residents are inviting people from all walks of life to come and enjoy a complimentary flower display and a church service this weekend.

The village of Ringmore is holding a flower festival in the Church of All Hallows from June 8-10, and will involve all organisations in the village.

The festival, based on the theme, ‘Our Village’ will display a wide variety of floral arrangements numbering over 30 and spread from the front gate of the church through the window behind the altar. Each day the church will be open from 10am to 5pm with refreshments provided by the WI in their nearby hall and garden.

There will also be three open gardens in the village with different garden sizes, styles and plant arrays, in which visitors will be able to explore. The festival will close on Sunday evening with a ‘Festival of Praise’ service at the church led by new vicar Reverend Matt Rowland. Mr Rowland joined the Modbury team of five churches in January.

Entrance is free, with donations invited to help with the maintenance and mission of the church and with proceeds from the catering to support the WI hall.
