glorious weather has given no respite for local fire crews as they tackled barn fires.
On Saturday, at 7.21am, the fire service was called to a barn fire at Higher Hatch near Churchstow.
Kingsbridge, Modbury and Salcombe Fire crews were mobilised along with a water carrier from Torquay.
Crews reported a barn, containing various farm machinery, to be well alight and two hose reel jets and a compressed air foam system jet were used to douse the flames.
On Monday at 8.12am there was another report of a barn on fire in Stokenham.
Crews from Kingsbridge, Dartmouth and Salcombe responded and a water carrier from Torquay was also called in.
The fire involved a single storey barn measuring approx 15m x 15m containing 70 bales of hay.
The farmer removed the bales using a telehandler and fire crews used three hose reel jets, one compressed air foam jet, and one covering jet to tackle the flames.
