Freemasons are opening their village lodge for the day to celebrate 300 years of the organisation and let people know what they do.
The Dartmoor Lodge in South Brent is holding an open day this Sunday, June 25, and offering a free barbecue to those who would like to see inside the Masonic Hall and temple in Totnes Road.
The event runs from 11am, and the bar will be open all day.
A spokesman said: "This year, the United Grand Lodge of England, our governing body, is celebrating 300 years of Freemasonry.
"To celebrate this milestone, we are opening the doors of the lodge building, including the temple, to everyone. Many people probably pass our lodge every day without noticing or realising what the building is.
"We are keen for everyone to know what we stand for and what we achieve, particularly with regard to charity. After the National Lottery, we, Freemasons, are by far the biggest contributors to charitable and benevolent causes. We also enjoy ourselves while achieving this."
They added: "Everybody is welcome, we want to entertain our families, friends and neighbours to show what Freemasonry is all about. So please come and meet us."
