On Monday, January 15, the Dartmouth Higher Ferry be closed for its annual refit and Maritime and Coastguard Agency inspection.

It is planned to have the ferry back in operation on the Monday, January 29, 2018.

The vessel, owned by the Dartmouth and Kingswear Floating Bridge Company Ltd, had her last 12 month MCA inspection in January this year. The annual inspection covers safety equipment checks ensuring that all equipment is tested and certificated. It is less intensive than the more rigorous 5-yearly inspection.
