Attendees of Dartmouth Caring’s Fashion Show on April 6, will have the opportunity to take part in a silent auction for a rather unusual lot.
Until six months ago, Dart Marina Hotel’s food and beverage manager, Tim Aston, was a serving as a Warrant Officer with the Household Cavalry and he has very kindly used his connection to the Regiment to secure this prize for the charity.
Four lucky people will be able to spend the day with the Household Cavalry at Combermere Barracks, Windsor.
It will be a busy day which will include, among other things, a visit to the stables to view the famous Household Cavalry horses and a chance to see their modern-day battlefield equivalent, the vehicles used by the Regiment in their operational role.
There will be an opportunity for a photo shoot dressed in Ceremonial Uniform, plenty of Regimental silver and artefacts to view and other intriguing insights into the world of the Household Cavalry.
Dee Nutt, chair of Dartmouth Caring, expressed her delight that such an unusual prize had been secured for the charity. The auction will be launched at The Fashion Show, which will be held in the Dart Marina Hotel from 1pm-4.30pm. Tickets for this event, which had been available from local boutiques Danielli and Mistral, have now sold out.
However, it will still be possible for people to participate in the silent auction until April 30. Details are available on Dartmouth Caring’s website and social media pages and the charity will be contacting members to inform them of this exciting opportunity.
At the Fashion Show on April 6, Danielli and Mistral will be presenting a range of stylish possibilities to help inspire our wardrobe choices for the months ahead. Entry is strictly by ticket and includes a delicious afternoon tea and a glass of fizz.
