Emilie Frost, of Townstal Crescent, Dartmouth, writes: As part of my community action badge for 1st Dartmouth Guides, I organised a Christmas bingo event for Friday, December 12, to raise funds for Rowcroft Hospice and my Guides unit. I would like to thank ­everyone who attended and supported my event. A very big thank you must go to all the local businesses who very generously donated prizes. I would also like to thank Ernie Chase for calling on the night and Linda Lye for doing all the checking. A special thanks must also be given to two trustees of the Townstal Community Hall, Cllr Hawkins and Mr Hindmarsh, who kindly paid for the hire of the hall. I am pleased to say that a total of £864.25 was raised on the night, which will be split equally between Rowcroft Hospice and 1st Dartmouth Guides. Many thanks once again to everyone.
