KINGSBRIDGE Estuary Rotary Club has granted £3,250 to 13 local causes throughout the past year.

This has been made through donations by the local community and then granted through the £250 monthly grant scheme run by the club.

Applications are made by completing and submitting a simple application form on the club’s website. Applications are then judged by different club members each month and then a winner is selected.

The rest of the applications are rolled over to the next month for reconsideration. Presentation of the cheque is made to the winner, a photo taken and then displayed on the club’s website gallery.

The winners so far have been primary and secondary schools, sports and activities clubs, the library, individuals and care organisations for the elderly and infirm.

Examples of where the grant monies have been spent include new helmets for a climbing club, team football kit, a hockey club training course, projector and equipment for an archery club, outdoor facilities for a primary school, updating promotional information and displays for a care organisation and camping equipment for the Sea Scouts.

If you are a school, support organisation, club or an individual with a project or event that benefits members of our community, and £250 would help, take a look at the Estuary Rotary website at www.estuaryrotary.org.uk.
