A village’s annual summer fair saw more than 300 people turn out for an afternoon and evening of music and fun.

After the previous weekend’s blue skies and blazing sun Ermington Summer Fair always had a lot to live up to. But great music and lots of people made the event a roaring success acording to organisers, although they could have done with a bit more sunshine.

The event is organised by the Ermington Village Fund, which raises money and spends it on events and other things that benefit the community, like fireworks for the village display, Christmas trees and lights, and a recently installed bench.

This year’s fair featured music from the Saltash Town Band and Envy of Angels, who headlined in the evening. Other entertainment included the popular bouncy castle, a tug of war, a fun dog show, welly throwing and much more.

Village fund secretary Diane Webley said: "It went very well, we had more than 300 people according to the number of entries paid. Everyone seemed to enjoy themselves.

"The Saltash Town Band were brilliant as usual and Envy of Angels got everyone going.

"It wouldn’t happen without Pete Davis our chairman, who put an awful lot of work in. Thanks to all the people who helped set up and take everything down, a lot of them were new faces which was fantastic.

"Thanks to anyone who helped make it a success."
