Francesca Johnson, of Swannaton Road, Dartmouth, writes: I think the re-election of Sarah Wollaston is a great result for our area as, in her first term, she has proven to be a local MP who remains in touch with the 'real world' and is always eager to listen and act on behalf of her constituents. Also, I would like to also say well done to all the town and district councillors who won seats this year. These people are all prepared to give up valuable time to help support the town and county and they should be congratulated. I note with particular interest that Dave Cawley was not re-elected. After reading yet another article last week detailing his criticism of the Tourist Information Centre – another voluntary organisation focused on doing good for Dartmouth – I also view this as a good result. Over recent months The Chronicle has been full of quotes from Mr Cawley containing misinformation and inaccurate statements designed to cause conflict. Maybe Dartmouth will finally be able to move towards operating like other local towns, where a team approach exists between community groups allowing energy and time to be focused towards positive collaboration, which is always the most effective way of achieving what are important common goals.
