This was a great opportunity to showcase the work of GCSE students in Art and Design and Textiles and will be further supplemented next year by Photography.
Head of department, Nicola Perrott, said, " We are always delighted to secure a wider audience for the work of our students. We have changing displays at the doctors surgery and at Sainsbury’s but the Flavel is our big, end of year celebration.
The talent of our children is phenomenal and we are one of the highest achieving art departments in the country. I feel very proud to be a part of Dartmouth Academy and would like to extend my thanks to my colleagues, to The Flavel and to Alf Resco for their kind sponsorship of the private view."
The private view itself was very well attended with students explaining their work to the Mayor and to the many parents that were viewing the show.
The exhibition continues until Sunday, July 9th.
