Children from three local primary schools recently joined together to attend their annual residential on the River Dart near Dartmouth.

Pupils from Cornwood Church of England Primary School, The Erme Primary School and Shaugh Prior Primary School had a great time living outdoors for three days, making fires, cooking their own pizzas and building porches for their shelters.

Head of Cornwood Primary School Sara-Jane Baker said: “Although the night times were a bit chilly, during the day it was sunny allowing the children to go canoeing, discover the lost world, climb very tall trees, solve a few problems and whizz down the zip wire.

“Everyone returned home safe and well, if a little dirtier than when they set off.”
