DARTMOUTH Academy has praised students on their A-levels results.

Principal Tina Graham said: ‘We are delighted with the performance of our sixth form pupils this year and have enjoyed seeing them excited about their future choices and destinations.’

Good exam grades have enabled students to gain places in higher education and others have secured jobs.

Jake Robinson achieved a B in biology and C grades in chemistry and maths. He will now study biomedical science at Aston University. Rhiannon Healey achieved an A in history, C in English literature and a D in psychology and is off to study history at Gloucester University.

Oriana Chan-You is going on to study at Toulouse Business School after achieving double distinction and merit in sport and exercise science. Emily Hamill achieved good grades in history, ICT, psychology and business and holds an offer to study fashion at Bristol University. Mitchell Rycroft is going to study digital arts and technology after getting an unconditional offer from Plymouth University.

Emily Hodge plans to study sports therapy at Marjons, Plymouth. Priya Greig is going to study international relations. George Vincent is going to Plymouth University to study computing.

Tyler Harwood is destined for Plymouth City College of Art and Design and Teagan Webster has secured a place to study art and design at South Devon College.

Jake Billings and Matt Howitt have both secured paces for further study at South Devon College and Sam Evans, Nathan Fraser, Brandon Head, Ruben Humphries, Sapphire Scales and Leah Sharam have all done well in their exams and have all secured employment.

It was a small cohort of Dartmouth students who received their grades on Thursday.

The academy has suspended its sixth form pending any further measures in the management of the school and now most of its post-16 years education is provided under the Academies South West umbrella to enable a wider curriculum.

Mrs Graham said: ‘Our sixth form have been a pleasure to work with this year.

‘They have had a brilliant year, worked as a real team and supported one another. They have been a joy to work with and a pleasure to getting know and will be missed.

‘We wish them all the very best for the future, whatever their route and very much look forward to celebrating their future successes.’
