The Easter bunny is hopping across the river to a beautiful community-owned island in preparation for a special egg hunt on Easter Saturday.

Brent Island is a three-acre area of meadow and woodland encircled by two arms of the River Avon. It was bought by the community of South Brent 24 years ago with the aim of protecting wildlife and giving people a place for quiet enjoyment.

Brent Island Trust, which cares for this unique location, is organising a family fun day on Easter Saturday, March 31, from 10am to 4pm. Parents can take their children  down to the island  to hunt for clues on the Easter Egg Trail at the same time as exploring the wonderful natural surroundings and enjoying the wildlife.

Brent Island is down Millswood Lane behind St. Petroc’s Church. Entry is £2, with the prize of a chocolate egg for every entrant.
