How I agree with the letter ‘Dogs reflection of their owners’, Gazette, August 18.
Dogs on beaches, left to roam, are a real nuisance. The were 36 dogs on Salcombe’s North Sands beach on Saturday, August 5 – some barking, some weeing on sandcastles and others trying to eat my sandwiches. None of them were on leads and some people had three dogs.
Dogs weeing and defacating where children play is a no-no.
Bagged up dog poo left between rocks is a no-no – I recovered two bags.
Dogs in restaurants, when wet and smelling, is also a no-no.
Why should people who don’t own dogs put up with it?
Dog owners frequently take no notice of instructions to put them on leads – they refuse to conform.
