Divertimento String Quartet is performing a Sunday afternoon concert in Kingsbridge at the end of October.

All the works were written when the composers were young men, of exactly 28-years-old, and together make a varied and easily approachable programme.

Beginning with Beethoven (Opus 18 no 4) in dramatic minor mood, and followed by Villa Lobos’s quartet in the form of a suite of song and dance movements, the afternoon’s concert concludes with Ravel’s String Quartet in F, one of the greatest works in the string quartet repertoire.

The concert has a 3pm start, designed to encourage concert-goers to enjoy a memorable concert before the evenings draw in! It is sponsored by Bartons Solicitors, and is at Kingsbridge Methodist Church on Sunday, October 22, at 3pm.
