Les King, of Litte Hill, Salcombe, writes: It was interesting to read in last week's Gazette that our new Conservative district councilor for Salcombe had been 'open and honest' about being a councilor in two far apart districts. How can she have been 'open and honest', to quote one of the council leaders, when I for sure cannot remember seeing on her manifesto leaflet posted through our letterbox, that she was a second home owner? So I expressed my concerns that being in Thurlestone was far enough away but 186 miles takes the biscuit. I just wonder if the vote would have been different had the voters of Salcombe been aware of this situation?
