Two Kingsbridge residents have celebrated their Diamond Wedding Anniversary with a meal with family.

Fred and Pam King were surprised by a meal organised by their three children, at their favourite restaurant, the Maha-Bharat in Kingsbridge.

Fred and Pam lived just a couple of doors from each other in North London, eventually meeting and marrying on December 7, 1957. They welcomed their son Jeffrey in 1962, and twins Angela and Nigel in 1964.

They lived in Palmer’s Green, North London, before moving to Kingsbridge more than twenty-five years ago.

They now have four grandchildren, Charlotte, Ryan, Laura and Rachel, and a one-year-old great-grandson Oliver.

The meal at the Maha-Bharat was a real family occasion, with their three children, their spouses, two grandchildren, their great-grandson, and as an extra surprise, Pam’s brother Barry and his partner Shirley arrived from Ipswich to celebrate with them.

The couple also received a card from The Queen, congratulating them on their diamond wedding anniversary.

Congratulations Pam and Fred!
