Kingsbridge charity, the Coleridge Bus has recently said goodbye to two of its drivers - Dee Bulleid and Jenny Casson.

Creonne Baker, trustee of the Coleridge Bus, said: “After many years of commitment, as both a driver and secretary to The Coleridge Bus, Dee Bulleid has moved to France to have an adventure with her companion dog Sid.

“Dee has been invaluable both as a driver and in all her efforts to keep the bus paperwork in order and has been a hard act to follow.

“Jenny Casson is also off to pastures new, again after many years of loyal service as another of our lady drivers.

“We wish them good luck in their future ventures.”

For the past year, the charity has been receiving the expert help of former Kingsbridge Mayor, Wayne Grills - but due to pressing commitments, he has also moved on.

The Coleridge Bus is now, once again, looking for volunteers to help keep the bus on the road and secure the future of the vital service.

The bus is available for anyone to use in the villages that they service, all-year-round.

They are looking for volunteers to help out two hours a week, two hours a month or even just twice a year.

Creonne said: “It doesn’t matter what age you are, whether 18 or 80, all we need is your time and willingness. As always we are looking for new drivers to join our team. All the drivers and coordinators are volunteers and nobody takes a wage.

“All donations go to maintaining the bus, training new drivers and keeping this valuable service going.”

If you’re interested in volunteering, please call 01548 511113 or 01548 531451.

The Coleridge Bus’ AGM will be held on Monday, May 8 at Sherford Village Hall, at 7pm for 7.30pm. If you are at all interested in finding out more ways you can help, please come along and join them.
