Cllr Jonathan Hawkins, of Church Hill, Kingswear, writes: I was recently saddened to see criticism of the Dartmouth Tourist Information Centre and all the hard work it does on behalf of Dartmouth and its surrounding parishes. We are very lucky to have such a hard-working and dedicated team of volunteers who ensure our visitors get a first-rate welcome to our town. Over the past few years Lesley and her team have won a number of awards in recognition of their professional approach and we should appreciate all they do. Whenever I go in they always have a smile and a warm welcome for visitors. Working with the BID and not duplicating websites have saved Dartmouth many tens of thousands of pounds, ensuring limited resources are used as carefully as possible.
