CAROLINE MONTAGUE, of Bantham, Kingsbridge, writes:

I recently had the pleasure of singing with the Salcombe Community Gospel Choir at a beautiful civil wedding at Cliff House, Salcombe.

We were forced by 'the rules', to change words of our song so that 'Lord' was not sung inside the building, despite the bride and groom being perfectly happy with the original version. The 'rules' also ban the words 'heaven' and 'Jesus', unless you are standing outside of the building.

Surely this is an infringement of human rights and, regardless of race or religion, the couple getting married should be able to choose what is acceptable to them, to have sung at their own wedding.

What is the Government expecting to achieve by these measures?'
