THE Thurlestone Hotel has been awarded two AA Rosette awards - one for the hotel’s restaurant and one for the Village Inn.

The Margaret Amelia Restaurant, which previously held one rosette, has now been upgraded with two. And the Village Inn, which was substantially refurbished earlier this year, has been given one rosette for the first time.

Awarded by AA hotel and restaurant inspectors, the prestigious rosettes recognise the highest standards of food and service in hotels and restaurants across the UK.

The Thurlestone Hotel’s managing director, Matthew Grose said: ‘This is great news to end the year on. Our teams in both restaurants work extremely hard and for their skills to be rewarded in this way is really fantastic.

‘It is a particular delight for the Village Inn to pick up an award too - the refurbishments that took place at the start of the year included the creation of a significantly bigger kitchen, which has meant that the chefs have much more space and freedom to experiment and develop the menu.’

Last winter, the Village Inn was refurbished and expanded to offer additional dining space and a relaxed lounge area, as well as the development of a new menu.

The hotel is poised for a redevelopment of the main Margaret Amelia Restaurant, which is due to begin in early January and be completed in time for Easter.
