Rolf Burnie, of Thurlestone, writes: Former councillor Brian Boughton's disgraceful outburst and behaviour at a charity Christmas lunch is interesting. Jesus said that the worth of a prophet was known by the worth of someone's behaviour, so when Brian Boughton says in one of his email newsletters that the nativity story is not true we know well how much this ex-councillor's words are worth. Instead of pushing gateaux into someone's face or wishing that people rot in hell, maybe he should spend some time looking at the evidence for that first Christmas. And having done so put his trust in Jesus, just as so many others have done over the centuries, and find the change it makes to a person's life. It will also rescue him from that very hell he also probably doesn't believe in but wants for others.
