Please could you publish the names of the 15 councillors on the South Hams Council who voted for the wind turbine at Sherford, then we can getrid of them at the next election.

Secondly, the growth of algae in the Kingsbridge estuary is clearly a concern and may well be a partial result of detergents, as reported last week. Another factor could be the emptying of raw sewage into the water from visiting and local boats. In the Kingsbridge/Salcombe estuary, there seemsto be no requirement for boats to use holding tanks for their sewage waste; as a result, on-board toilets may legally be emptied directly into the water. This practice is banned in many estuaries but, as far as I'm aware, is still legal here. The vast majority of local yacht owners are responsible and wouldn't dream of indulging in this practice but visitors and a few others may not be so considerate. We no longer swim off the beautiful beaches near Salcombe since we learned of this happening here.

Time for our local councillors to put this right.

Editor's note: Unfortunately the vote regarding the wind turbine at Sherford was unrecorded and therefore the names of the 15 councillors who voted in favour of it cannot be obtained.
