South Dartmoor Community Energy (SDCE), provides free advice to help residents reduce their fuel bills and stay warm and well this winter.

The SDCE energy advisors are holding drop in energy advice surgeries at the Dartmouth Caring Lunch Club in the Community Corner, The Old Market on Wednesday, November 1, from 11am to 1pm and then at the Dartmouth Caring Memory Café in Townstal Hall on Tuesday, November 14, from 10.30pm to 12pm..

The Advisors will also be at the coffee morning in Dartmouth Baptist Church on Wednesday, December 13, from 10am to noon and everyone is welcome to pop in. For the best advice residents are urged to bring a recent fuel bill.

Funded through the Lottery and DCH Group the advice is all free and impartial and includes advice on switching energy tariff, info on the extra support available from fuel companies, grants for heating and insulation improvements and smart meters.

Katie Reville one of the SDCE Advisors commented; “Many residents are very loyal to their energy suppliers and reluctant to shop around for fear of the hassle. We want to give people the confidence and skills to take charge of their fuel bills and ensure they’re not paying too much.”

The team also have advice sessions organised in Totnes and Kingsbridge, are able to do home visits to housebound residents and can provide top tip talks to community groups and clubs. Further information on their service please visit www.southdartmoorcommunityenergy.org or call 0800 112 3044.
