A YOUNG man was assaulted in the Town Square in Kingsbridge on Saturday night at around midnight.

The local man, 22, was attacked outside the Tourist Information Centre and received treatment for cuts and bruises around the head. He is now believed to be out of hospital.

Kingsbridge Police confirmed that the enquiries are still ongoing, and they would like to speak to anybody who witnessed the incident.

Sgt David Green, neighbourhood team leader said: ‘We’d like to assure residents that this is a one off incident between individuals, and not a sign of degrading public safety in Kingsbridge.’
