Emergency services are currently on the scene at Slapton Line at Torcross due to a suspected ordinance discovery. ***UPDATE @ 16.25: The road is now open***A Royal Navy Bomb Disposal team detonated the suspected bomb in a controlled explosion and the road was reopened. You can see a video of the detonation below, provided to us by HM Coastguard and Royal Navy Bomb Disposal. ***UPDATE @ 16.00: The road is expected to reopen within the next hour.

Dartmouth and Prawle Point Coastguards have closed off the road to the the public to ensure everyone's safety. An Explosive Ordnance Disposal team are currently en route. The ordinance is suspected to be a bomb of some sort and is located just below the high tide mark. It is thought it was originally spotted by walkers.

There are likely to be traffic queues and delays until it is dealt with, so plan your journey accordingly.
