KINGSBRIDGE Police officers who were attacked with an angle grinder in May last year have received bravery awards from the Royal Humane Society.
PCs Rebecca Sutton, Jon Lonsdale, Ryan Hayhurst and John Dingle were presented with a Royal Humane Society award by Princess Alexandra following their part in an incident last May when they were badly injured in the course of their duty.
More to follow.
Stephen Yabsley, who was arrested shortly after the incident, was due to appear at Exeter Crown Court by video link from Broadmoor Secure Hospital but the case has now been adjourned to July 15.
Judge Ian Lawrie adjourned the case to enable consultant psychiatrist Dr Christine Brown time to prepare an amended report.
Yabsley, 54, of Retreat Close, Kingsbridge has admitted wounding two police officers who were injured during a four hour siege at his home in May last year.
He attacked them with an angle grinder and other power tools as they tried to get into the hallway of his home and taunted police by giving a running commentary on the siege on Facebook.
Yabsley was transferred from prison to Broadmoor in February after he admitted the assaults.
